Abstract: Pre-processing radar signals incident on an adaptivearray by applying an invertible transformation such aswavelets are the focus of this study. The effect ofwavelet subband decomposition of radar signals prior toadaptation using an LMS algorithm or an Applebaumprocessor on the adaptation rate of these processors isexamined. The performance of wavelet transform basedarray processors is compared with that of the FFT andcosine transform. The dynamic range of the arrayweights before and after wavelet transformation isbeing examined. Simulations involving experimentalradar data and different types of wavelets are alsopresented. !11
