Abstract: A new two-dimensional (2-D) technique is developed toestimate the polarimetric characteristics of scatteringcenters that exist on radar targets. This techniqueuses a 2-D damped exponential model to approximate thescattering from radar targets. The validity of thismodel is investigated relative to the scatteringcharacteristics that exist on the targets of interest.Simulations are shown which validate the technique. !10
