Recombinant bacteria are useful vectors for delivering foreign antigens to muscosal surfaces and may elicit immune protection against (HBV) pathogens. Plasmid pcDNA3s(carrying hepatitis B antigen) and pEGFPC3 were transformed into attenuated salmonella typhimurium SL8768, and recombinant attenuated salmonella typhimurium SL8768/EGFPC3 and SL8768/pcDNA3s was construed by electrotransformation. EGFPC3 expression in spleen cells was detected by flow cytometry (FCM). Strong specific CTL response appeared and antibody levels of anti-HBs were highest in 11 weeks after oral administration of SL8768/pcDNA3s in mice. Green fluorescence gene expression of liver, spleen, kidney, chest gland, duodenum and muscle were observed. The immunization of HBsAg DNA with recombinant recombinant Salmonella typhimurium was safe and induced specific cellular and humoral immune responses specific for the expressed.
