摘要

The existing leather softener is generally composed of neutral fats and oils, monomer, emulsifying material and other penetration and fixing agents. When utilizing this in the leather fabrication process, main bonding method is ionic bonding. In this process, first emulsifier is penetrated into the leather and then the substance having active agent makes secondary bonding, which requires long process hours and necessitates complete bonding of unreacted substance by separate re-tanning, dyeing and fixing process. This has been one of the problems. The polymer type softener developed by this study is simple in structure and has advantage of simultaneous applicability with its various reaction site including dyeing, fatliquoring and re-tanning, which allows excellent workability and process simplification resulting in cost and energy saving by the reduced use of chemicals like fatliquors and dye stuffs.
