A Novel Ocean Wind Field Estimation Method SAR Images Based

Ocean wind field parameters estimation from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) images has been widely accepted. Most wind parameters estimation algorithms use wind direction and corrected δ_(VV) as priori information before they sent into geophysical model function. Considering same wind direction, different model function would gain different wind speed, so it is crucial to select model function. Moreover tiny errors in wind direction can lead to obvious difference in wind speed. New method based on texture analysis for ocean wind field parameters estimation is discussed and tested. It wills retrieval wind vector from SAR images without priori wind direction information. And simulation results show that this method can give higher accuracy for wind field estimation.
