A complete three-dimension Monte Carlo model is used to simulate the fast electrons and ions (N~+N_2~+) in the cathode dark space (CDS) of Nitrogen direct current glow discharge. The flux, density and mean energy distributions of the fast electrons and ions within the CDS are calculated. The influence of the backscattering of the electrons from the negative glow (NG) to the CDS is also investigated. It is shown that the charged particles can be thought transporting independently in the CDS, the electrons and the atomic ions are the high-energy particles and the molecular ions are the major positive particles in the CDS. The calculated results can present deep insight into the characteristics of the charged particles in the CDS of the Nitrogen direct current glow discharge.
