Abstract: Image statistics of some computed images and statistical history of the corresponding quadtree are analyzed. A new multiple resolution segmentation (MRS) approach using quadtree for these computed images is presented. The results obtained by using this approach demonstrate the correctness of the derived statistical properties and efficacy of this MRS scheme. !9
