Abstract: Active vision is an area that has received increased attention over the past few years. LIA/AUC, an active research area, uses active vision for geometric scene modeling and interpretation. In order to pursue this research, a binocular robot camera head has been constructed. In this manuscript, the basic design of the head is outlined and a prototype that has been constructed is described in some detail. Detailed specifications of the components are provided together with a section on lessons learned from the construction of the prototype. !4
