the regional resarch project known as Family Business: Interaction in Work and Family Spheres (or NE-167) has received praise because it was able to provide unique and detailed information that no other study of family business to date has been able to provide. While those involved in the project have derived numerous benefits from it, such long-distance team efforts are not for everyone. The purpose of this special session was to discuss the nature of interdisciplinary regional research teams in general by focusing on the Family Business project, funded from 1993 to 1998.
