Analysis of preferred fiber compositions found across the market segments of the apparel industry in korea

The purpose of this research was to compare the usage of fiber compositions in the merchandise across different market segments of the apparel industry during the Spring/summer of 1998/1999 and Fall/Winter of 1998. Data were collected by visiting the apparel shops located at diverse geographic regions in Seoul, Korea. Fiber compositions written on the care labels of the apparel items were recorded .Collected data were first segmented into men's, women's, and sportswear markets and the women's market were further grouped into "fresh youn (18-23)," "young career (24-29)," and "missy & madam (3-45)" markets, based on the characteristics of the Korean apparel market. The freuqency distribution of the occurrence of different fiber compositions was investigated through cross-tabulation using microsoft-Excel software.
