IN-SITU TESTS OF I-15 BRIDGE AND RP STRENGTHENING OF I-80 BRIDGE

摘要

During the I-15 reconstruction project, five reinforced concrete bents of the old freeway at SouthTemple Bridge, built in 1962, were tested. Three bents were tested in the as-is condition, two bents after aCarbon Fiber Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) composite seismic retrofit, and one bent after a CFRP compositerehabilitation. The lessons learned from these in-situ tests at the I-15 bridge site were used in the strengtheningand seismic retrofit of five I-80 bridges.
