This paper describes the assessment approach implemented by Electricité de Francern(EDF) to assess the feasibility of the design principles under consideration by the Frenchrnutility for the EPR (European Pressurized Reactor) computerized operationrnThe first part of this paper deals with the approach used for defining the content andrnprotocol of the tests. In the second part, we make a brief presentation of the means (testbed),rnpeople (logistics, observers, operating crews) and organization (progress of therntests) used to carry out these tests. The last part describes how the collected data wasrnanalyzed, and presents the stages and major criteria used to prioritize the results of thisrnfirst test campaign taking into account the industrial and economic constraints of the EPRrnproject.
