摘要

The nonlinear optical interactions represent a rich source of phenomena, that has scientific and practical importance. With increasing of the order of nonlinearity, the conversion efficiency strongly falls down. That is why, only the lowest order X~((2)) or X~((2)) processes have a satisfactory efficiency for real practical application. The second and third order nonlinear conversions in nonlinear crystals are now a mature technology for short wavelength generation in the range down to the vacuum UV, which, in particular, is very interesting for variety spectroscopy studies.
