This research analyses the extent of salinized land in the Hexi Corridor. Alfalfa varieties, including Zhongmu No. 1, Xinjiangdaye, Barlfa54 Derby, Algonguin.have been introduced and grown on extended areas using crop rotation and under-crop sowing, An alfalfa and livestock industry has been developed on salinized land in Xiao Quanzi of Linze county in the Hexi Corridor. Gansu Province. Growing alfalfa has improved the livestock industry, used livestock sludge in the fields, developed grassland husbandry and a livestock industry of yard feeding with alfalfa for small-tailed Han sheep, Dorset Down, Simmental, Meat-purpose rabbit etc. The grassland agriculture that was developed, established a circulation system of growing grass, raising livestock, improving soil moisture and soil conditions and increasing food yield. The demonstration base of grassland husbandry, livestock industry and the model of transformation and utilization with grassland agriculture of saving water have been established in salinized land in the Hexi Corridor in Gansu province.
