Effect of surfactant types, added amount of surfactant and stirring rate on the purity and recovery of 2,6-dimethylnaphthalene(2,6-DMN) in the purification process of liquid emulsion membrane crystallization were studied. The results showed that liquid emulsion membrane crystallization is an effective process for the purification of 2,6-DMN. Under conditions of 5 grams crude 2,6-DMN, 200ml H_2O, 2.6ml added amount of non-ionic surfactant, 8℃/min heating rate and 6000rpm stirring rate, 2,6-DMN can be easily purified from a concentration of 47% to 95% by only one step crystallization with a high recovery of 90%.
