Murine cytomegalovirus infection of macrophages in vitro

Objection We used cultures of macrophage-enriched peritoneal exudate cells from mice to study murine ctyomegalovirus (MCMV) infection of macrophages. Metherds L929 cell-conditioned medium was used as a soure of macrophage growth factor to establish a cell model. After 6 to 8 days in culture, macrophages were infected with MCMV(2X10~4PFU) and studied using virology, cytology and molecular biology respectively.
