On the analysis of the printing nip on sheetfed lithographic presses and its implications on the runnability of coated free sheets

The analysis of the printing Nip as a Navier-Stokes problem has long been the source of study in order to understand both, the nature of the flow as well as its consequences on the printed matter. This papers studies three approaches to the problem and further studies the impact on the paper stock in terms of Runnability. Based on this analysis and the effect of the flow, the document proposes a software method for the determination of Runnability for Coated Free sheets running on sheetfed presses under offset lithography.
