摘要

This paper describes attempts to implement computer- and network-based training in the School of Media Science at Tokyo University of Technology. This school is special in that all students and teaching staff have their own portable computers, and these computers are put to practical use in the classroom and in communicating with students. Although this school was established only three years ago, various attempts have been made at providing students with an education that makes good use of computers and computer networks. Education in the school is divided into three core subject areas - Media Arts, Media Environments, and Media Technologies. After a foundation course lasting two years, students select one of the three core areas according to their own aims and objectives. I am in charge of 'Still and Moving Images', a Media Arts subject, and lecture and hold seminars in that subject. This paper is concerned in particular with computer graphic-related subjects, and introduces and considers class methodology in those subjects.
