Mastitis is a common disease in dairy industry and it is often caused by pathogenicmicroorganisms such as Enterococcus,Staphylococcus,Streptococcus,E.coli.Mastitis lowers the quality and yield of raw milk in dairy farming,and there is a need to explore effective methods for the treatment of mastitis.TheLactobacillusspecies oral administration can be a new method for the treatment of mastitis that could replace the traditional antibiotic treatment.We sampled 36 each of the healthy and mastiticdairy cows,which had a somatic cellnumber of lower than 3x105 and over lxl06 cells/ml in milk.We usedquantitative polymerase chain reactionto detect 12 kinds of Lactobacillusspecies,Lactococcuslactis,Bifidobacterium and major mastitic causative pathogenic microorganisms such as Staphylococcus,Streptococcus,Enterococcus.The objective of this study was toprofile and compare the microorganismsin the breast and the gut of the two sample groups.Our results has shown that the microbial composition between the two groups was significantly different (p<0.01).The number of total bacteria,and anaerobic fungiof the two groups were similar in the milk and fecal samples.However,the Enterococcus,Staphylococcus,Streptococcus,E.coli,Lactobacillus,Lactococcuslactis contents were significantly different both in the milk and fecal samples between mastitis and healthy groups (p<0.01).The Lactobacillusspecies,L.delbrueckii,L.salivarius,L.sake,L.acidophilus,in the fecal samples were significantly different between the mastitis and healthy groups (p<0.001).Most of theLactobacillusspecies such as L.delbrueckkii L.helveticus,L.ruminis,L.plantarum were different between the two groups,respectively.Our datahave providedinteresting data regarding the microbiological content in milk and fecal samples in bovine mastitis.
