摘要

China formally became a member of the World Trade Organization (WTO) on 11 December 2001. The WTO agreements are not only concerned with transnational trade in goods but also concerned with a wide range of issues such as trade in services, intellectual property, trade related investment measures, dispute resolution and the like. It is not exaggerating to say that the WTO regulates almost every aspect of the world economy. Under the Chinese law, international treaty provisions prevail in case of conflicting with domestic laws and administrative regulations. Thus, on China becoming a member of the WTO, the related agreements resulted from the Uruguay Round including all the agreements between its members entered into after its establishment will be binding on China.
