摘要

A water model was established to study the mechanism of large bubble formation in slab continuous casting mould with high casting speed and argon blowing, and the effects of casting speed and gas flowrate on it were investigated. The results show that the mechanism of large bubble formation by aggregation of bubbles during the floating process always exists. The size of large bubble formed under larger gas flowrates is bigger than that of smaller gas flowrates, and the effect of gas flowrate on the size of formed large bubble under smaller water flowrates is bigger than that of larger water flowrates. Furthermore, the optimal gas flowrate to restrain the large bubble formation was presented by water model.
