Aiming at the continuous casting mold flux of wide slab in casting medium carbon steel in practice, and based on the practical slag film and corresponding heat flux obtained, this article focused on two aspects, one for the effects of slag film structure (crystal size, slag film surface roughness and thickness) on the heat flux, the other for the relations between slag film structure as the same composition as the practical slag film retrieved in the lab and the heat flux measured by the heat flux simulator of mold slag film that is a homemade equipment. With this type of equipment, it was possible to reflect the interface thermal resistance between mold and slag film well. In addition, it had realized the study on the relation between heat flux and slag film structure in the lab, as well as provided the theoretical basis and method for collocating mold powders reasonably.
