Ideas: from Mind, to Paper, to Mind

摘要

The panel of the 3rd International Workshop on Patent Information Retrieval (PaIR'10) addresses the concept of the virtuous cycle that the patent system has the potential to empower. The first part (from mind to paper) is about making the IP system more available to society, encouraging inventors to apply for patents and to describe their inventions meaningfully in their patent applications. The second part (from paper to mind) will discuss the technologies that are currently available, or those that will or should be available in the future, to make sense of all the documents that a large patent collection contains.
