Photochemical reactions in Langmuir-Blodgett films have attracted widely attention because of the interest of photochromic materials as possible high intensity information storage media and light switching devices. The photoisomerization of azobenzene in LB films are of poor reactivity since the restricted environments and/or chromophore aggregation. Among all interaction on the adsorption process, ionic interactions is well-known as a strong attractive force between adsorbent and adsorbate. Phthalocyanine containing tetrapyridininum (TA_(16)PyPcCo) has high adsorbability for oppositely charge Methyl Orange (MO) anion. So, the composite LB films were fabricated and the structure characteristics with and without MO adsorption were studied by using the spectroscopic methods Furthermore, the photochromic property was observed by UV light irradiation.
