摘要

STATCOM is a popular device to improve voltage of weak buses in multibus system. This work deals with modeling and simulation of closed loop controlled seven level inverter based STATCOM in eight bus system. Closed loop PI & PID controlled STATCOM systems are investigated and their results are compared. The comparison is done in terms of time domain response parameters like steady state error & settling time. The STATCOM with PID controlled system is observed to be faster than PI controlled system.
