Airline companies hope to rely on wireless technologies to transfer engine health management, software updates, reliability information data and etc. more efficiently without manual manipulations. In support of this application, we consider providing wireless coverage using Amplify and Forward (AF) relay scheme at airport where fixed-cables are difficult to deploy. We abstracted and presented the system model for a practical airport wireless communication system at first. Since reliability of wireless system is vital to airline operation, we then focused on the analysis of the outage probability for this system with AF relay scheme and multiple receive antennas at the destination node under Nakagami-m fading channels. A closed-form expression for the outage probability was derived. Finally, extensive computer simulations under Nakagami-m fading channels were done and the results verified our analytical results.
