Wireline tractoring technology has set world and Gulf ofrnMexico records for several logging applications during therninitial completion and intervention of two extended-reach,rndeepwater frac pack wells and one extended-reach, deepwaterrnwater-injection well. This paper reviews some of thernchallenges involved with conventional conveyance methods inrnextended-reach wells, describes the planning process forrnwireline tractoring operations, including prejob modeling, andrnsummarizes the results of a project. The authors will alsornshare the lessons learned and best practices implemented.rnProper utilization of this technology has led to significant costrnsavings for the example project.
