INSTATIONARY STATES IN THE HYDROCYCLONE

Instationary states play an important role in hydrocyclone control. Three different types ofrninstationarities are described: 1. Instationarities of the separation effect due to fluctuating feedrnconditions. 2. Instationary underflow due to rapid changes between rope- and spray discharge.rn3. Intensive shaking of the hydrocyclone under special resonance conditions. Instationaryrnflow and discharge can be modelled using the turbulent diffusion model of hydrocyclonernseparation. The vibration behaviour is described by the vibration equation of the hydrocyclone.
