Selection and Design of Membrane Based Process for the Seminole Tribe of Florida

The Seminole Tribe of Florida (STOF) consists of five reservations throughout Florida. The STOF isrncurrently implementing an overall capital improvement program to all of the water and wastewater treatment facilities at various reservations including the Hollywood and BrightonrnReservations.rnThe primary objectives of this paper focuses on the selection and design of pressure membranernsystems required for the water plants at the Hollywood and Brighton Reservations. Selection andrndesign of the membrane process for both water treatment plants will include the following items:rn?Selection and design of pretreatment process required to prevent fouling of the pressurernmembranesrn?Pre and post chemical treatmentrn?Selection and design of a membrane system that will allow treatment for potential salt waterrnintrusion at the Hollywood Plantrn?Selection and design of membrane system that will allow staging and limited operation to meetrncurrent and future system demandsrn?Chemical treatment of the permeate to maintain stable water quality conditions in therndistribution system.
