Gas condensate reservoirs exhibiting classic “dewrnpoint” or retrograde condensate dropout behavior existrnin many areas in the world. These reservoirs are uniquernin that, as the reservoir pressure is decreased, a certainrnvolume of the heavy end fraction of the gas isrnprecipitated in liquid form from solution in the gas. Thisrncondensate liquid may be temporarily or permanentlyrntrapped in the reservoir, causing severe reductions inrngas production rates and the permanent loss of a largernportion of the volatile and valuable condensate liquidsrn(due to capillary pressure-induced trapping effects in thernporous media).rnThis paper reviews the basic theory of gasrncondensate dropout and describes, in detail, damagernproblems that may be associated with production ofrnreservoirs of this type. Techniques for mitigatingrncondensate dropout problems on a production basis, asrnwell as stimulation techniques such as repressurization,rnlean and rich gas injection, surfactant and solventrninjection, in-situ combustion and water/gas injection,
