摘要

The purpose of this study is to find a unified explanation ofvarious data on single neuronal, EEG, and behavioral levelssimultaneously. Specifically, the authors seek a unified view oncortico-septo-hippocampal system function. The main results are that:(a) phase transitions in the brain are not a theoretical framework onlyuseful for unified explanation of numerous facts, but real brainphenomena existing at the various levels of neuronal organizations; and(b) the principle of phase synchronization or, more generally, theprinciple of Ukhtomskii's dominant as a system manifestation of phasetransitions in the central nervous system is probably the main principleof brain functioning
