摘要

During the last years Biofuels were promoted as perfect alternatives to fossil fuels with a substantialrnpotential for mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. However, Biofuels cannot be seen as sustainable per se. They need to fulfill high social, environmental and economic requirements. Along with this, an improved acceptance in both, thernpolitical sector and the public is vital for the future relevance and broad utilisation of Biofuels. The necessary standardisation and certification of Biofuels can be achieved either by designing a completely new generic standardrnor through a process of proofing the compliance with a referring meta-standard.
