Education in ergonomics between independence and interdisciplinary character of didactics at one of the Italian Faculties of Architecture

In italian Architecture degree courses educational proposal for Industrial Design is generally limited to few courses. As a consequence of this, it seems to be more common to the teaching of applied ergonomics to design, as it is traditionally linked to Design as a subject. On the contrary, if ergonomics was provided with sufficient didactic autonomy, it would let young designers realize its own indeed strategic and proposal value compared with the prefiguration, not only to industrial products but also to spaces and environments. Through the report of five different educational outcomes occurred in the last seven academic years, we can outline growth and development of teaching in ergonomics within the dynamics of transformation proper of didactical trainings at one of the Italian Faculty of Architecture, between the research of independence of didactics and the building up of interdisciplinary relationships among the design teachings.
