Acidic Hybrid Catalysts Prepared by Grafting Large-Pore Silica M41S Materials

Large-pore mesoporous materials with enhanced textural characteristics (surface area, porernsize distribution and pore volume) were obtained from a pH-adjusted synthesis with arnsurfactant mixture of hexadecyl- and dodecyltrimethylammonium salts in combination withrnmesitylene-swelling. This material was grafted with phenyl-alkoxysilanes and subsequentlyrnsulphonated. Nitrogen adsorption and multinuclear MAS NMR were performed to monitorrnthe different synthesis steps.
