摘要

Zeoponic plant growth media and fertility ststems have been developed by cooperative programs between NASA and industry. Zeoponic materials consist of(a) plant nutrient ionexchanged natural/synthetic zeolites and (b) synthetic apatite, a phosphorus and trace element fertilizer constituent. Combined, these materials produce superior plant performance in a wide range of commercially important crops, in floriculture, vegerable horticulture, specialty sports turf and important foof grains, notably rice. Quality improvements include better germination,rnhigher yields,lower fertilizer requirements, reduced environmental nutrient losses,and berrer aesthetic quality in such crops as flowers and sports turf.
