BENZOTHIAZOLE DYESTUFFS FOR LEATHER DYEING

Leather dyeing is generally performed with soluble organic dyestuffs(azo-, direct-and metal-complex dyestuffs) in aqueous floates to wet leather.This leads to fixation of dye molecules inside as well, as a function of molecular size affinity for the fibers. Metal dyes are generally larger in molecular size than acid and directs dyes and they are used in dyeing of the leather surface. In this paper is prezented a new class of heterocyclic ― aromatic ring structure dyestuffs which has been synthesized. It has been started with p-chlorine-aniline. p-nitro-aniline,p-methyl-aniline, p-metoxi-aniline like intermediate compounds, by chemical modification to benzothiazoles and condensation with amino bromamine acid. These dyestuffs passe a high affinity for chrome tamed bovine leather and dye ft in rubinons and grey-bluish colours.The few proprieties of leather have been discussed.
