The present invention provides a pine branch-shaped samarium oxide-graphene-sulfur gel structure material, a preparation method therefor, and an application thereof. The material is a crosslinked gel structure formed by attaching pine branch-shaped samarium oxide on the surface of reduced graphene oxide, and the gel structure can be loaded with elemental sulfur. The preparation method for the material comprises: preparing a reduced graphene oxide-samarium precursor by means of a hydrothermal reduction reaction between graphene oxide and a samarium salt, pyrolyzing the reduced graphene oxide-samarium precursor in an inert atmosphere to obtain a reduced graphene oxide-pine branch-shaped samarium oxide gel, and diffusing elemental sulfur onto the reduced graphene oxide-pine branch-shaped samarium oxide gel to obtain the product. The pine branch-shaped samarium oxide-graphene-sulfur gel structure material provided in the present invention can significantly increase the electrochemical performance of a lithium-sulfur battery.
