1397441 Pharmaceutical package SYNTEX CORP 17 May 1972 [25 Aug 1971] 23204/72 Heading A5B A pharmaceutical package comprises a support or container on or in which 21 to 35 pharmaceutical daily dosage units are arranged in a particular order and indications or directions which together with the manner of packing are such as to provide guidance in relation to and to facilitate the administration of the dosage units at said rate and in a particular sequence, a part at least of that sequence; comprising at least seven successive units, containing an estrogen in graded amounts rising from an initial level to a first peak dose level and falling off thereafter, the amount of estrogen administered at the first peak dose level comprising from 10% to 20% of the total estrogen administered during the sequence, the total estrogen present being an amount sufficient to produce endometrial proliferation in the human female, a progestogen being contained in successive units in a part of the sequence falling entirely or in major part after the first estrogen peak dose level, the progestogen being present in an amount sufficient to induce pseudo-menstruation. It is used in treating hormone imbalances during the female menopause.
