The rear of the lorry is fitted with a telescopic loading boom (8) which is extended to reach into the front of the prefabricated concrete garage (4). The garage is lifted off the ground by sets of vertically operating rams (12) at the end of the boom. In order to improve the access of the system, especially in dropping the garage in confined spaces, the boom is pivotted on the lorry about a vertical axis (10). Special rams n14) at the ends of laterally extending struts stabilise the lorry on the ground and prevent it from tipping when the boom and the weight of the garage are normal to the vehicle longitudinal axis.
