This is obtained at output 12 of an amplifier 10 which also pro- duces the sum of the currents at 11 for comparison with a reference value IRA to regulate the current from a high voltage source 15 to the central electrode 2. That arrangement measures the air-flow to an I.C. engine while a similar one 23 measures the liquid fuel flow in a system for controlling the ratio of these two quantities (see Division G3). Pulverulant material suspended in a fluid may be measured by the system, by deducting a measurement of the fluid alone, made in a separate device.
