The process for turning a resin bonded diamond grinding wheel comprises turning the wheel (6) about its normal rotational axis (22) and holding a molybdenum tool (8) against its friction surface. The tool is of at least 95% purity molybdenum, which is produced by cold rolling. The tool is moved back and forth over a curved path (12) around the wheel periphery. This produces a curved work surface on the wheel edge. The molybdenum tool is pref. in tangential line contact with the periphery of the wheel. The tool produces less dust each heat than a rapidly wearing silicon carbide or aluminium oxide dressing tool.
