Electric safety fuse features a membrane of resin, grease or an oil having a lower m.pt. than that of a fusible alloy onto which it is applied and which is connected to electric conductors. The thickness of the membrane is such that its vol. ensures that the alloy disintegrates, under the influence of surface tension, into small beads when it melts, and is deposited on the sides of the electric conductors. The membrane is, in turn, coated with a heat-stable adhesive, e.g. an epoxy resin, or an inorganic material. The safety use is effective at a pre-determined, relatively high, temp. Its performance is uniform even though its mfr. is suitable for mass prodn.
