摘要
Granulation of a molten solid, e.g. glast furnace slag, is accomplished by pouring hot liquid on to an inclined flowing fluidised bed, usually made of gains of the material to be granulated. The size and form of the granules is controlled by the speed of the fluidised flow and quantity of gas in the slag which can be utilised to produce hollow granules. Sepn. of the granulate from the fluidised flow takes place on a sieve. Heat recovered from all or just the fluidised grains part of the flow is used to generate steam, which can, besides air, be utilised as the fluidising medium. Used for granulation of molten solid baths, e.g. slag baths, glass baths, ceramic materials or metals. Avoids danger of explosion as occurs in water immersion and indirectly recovers some of the heat from the molten solid.
