Underwater concrete slab anchored against uplift - has stretched anchor rod held on slab by anchor heads

The underwater concrete slab is secured against uplift by preloaded tension anchors. The latter are inserted from a working platform above the water table after completion of excavation but before making of the slab. The anchors are connected by anchor heads to the slab and the tension anchors are preloaded. The pressing anchor has a rod-shaped, screw-threaded tension member. This projects from the ground base beyond the water level. After the insertion and pressing of the tension members the anchor heads are fitted and tension members are stretched after the introduction and hardening of the underwater concrete for the slab.
