Contactless distance measuring device - operates on radar principle at distance of few centimetres to tens of meters

The distance measuring device is mounted in a pocket size case. It has a sender and receiver operating on the radar principle. An evaluating device measures propagation time of the signal from sender to the object and back to the receiver. The sender is a sound sender operating in the ultrasonic range, in which of course the receiver also operates. A viewfinder (7) is provided on the housing (4) so that the transmitter/receiver can be correctly aligned with respect to the object. A mason's level (8) is provided for positioning on a horizontal plane. Also fitted on the hosuing are a main switch (9), a measurement key (10), and an indicating field (11) which can be set to various ranges.
