Cat-cracking/reforming for high clear octane gasoline - by blending cracked light and heavy naphthas with reformed, cracked intermediate naphtha

High clear octane gasoline is prepd. by (1) cat-cracking a hydrocarbon feed at conversions of 50-90%, pref, 75-90% to below 430 degrees F to give a 5C-430 degrees F fraction, (2) fractionating that fraction into light 5C-180 degrees F intermediate 180-270 degrees F and heavy 270-430 degrees F fractions, (3) reforming at least a portion of the intermediate fraction without a diluent, and (4) blending the reformate with the light and heavy fractions. The intermediate fraction may first be extracted to provide an aromatic extract, the aromatic extract being then blended with the light and heavy fractions and the reformate obtained upon reforming the raffinate from the aromatic extraction. The cracking catalyst pref. includes a cryst. zeolite. A clear gasoline having a 95 RON can be readily obtained.
