The distributor valve (1) contains a sliding spool (3). At each end are spring loaded sleeves (6, 6'), holding the spool in the neutral position. Normal operation of the aircraft landing gear is electrical, hydraulic fluid passing down a central inlet (A) and along passages controlled by solenoid operated ball valves and into a selected chamber behind one spring loaded sleeve, to operate the spool. For hydraulic operation, hydraulic fluid is fed (U1) to a chamber (35) at one end of the spool so that a spring loaded rod (38) is displaced to move the spool and switch the valve.
