The extracting mechanism consists of a first horizontal archamedian screw conveyor (9) which is mounted radially on the base of the silo. The central housing holding the centre of the conveyor rotates about the vertical axis through the gearing (32). A vertical screw conveyor (16) takes the material out of the base of the silo into the delivery duct (37) which it is picked up by a second horizontal conveyor (7). This conveyor is driven by the vertical conveyor through level gears.
