The seat suspension has a seat support chassis, a base chassis, and a scissor linkage between the two. One end of each link is fixed, the other moving so that the two chassis are always parallel as they move up and down with respect to each other. The movement of the linkage is modified by a spring (30) which is suspended from the chassis traverse (19) via. the threaded rod (25) and connector (26). The applied couple on the linkage can be altered by closing or moving aside the line of action of the spring by moving the connector along the threaded rod.
