The manipulator consists of three segments (4, 5, 6), a middle segment (4) of which carries a test system, whilst the other two segments (5, 6) are arranged pivotably on the middle segment (4). The segments (4, 5, 6) surround the pipe, the pipe seam of which is to be tested, and are rotatable on the latter coaxially relative to the pipe axis by means of radial and axial guide rollers (17 and 16). One of the pivotable segments (5) has a drive motor (19), and the middle segment (4) carries a slide (11) having a spindle drive for the axial movement of the test system. IMAGE
